New York State Police arrested a 29-year-old Lockport man, Jaquan J. Wright, on March 4, 2025, in connection with a home invasion. Wright faces charges of Burglary 2nd degree, Menacing 2nd degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and 3rd degree.
The incident occurred on January 3, 2025, at a residence on Dysinger Road. Wright allegedly forced his way inside and threatened multiple victims with a handgun. With assistance from U.S. Marshals, authorities located and arrested Wright on Chapel Street in Lockport. Officers recovered a 9mm handgun with no serial number and a loaded high-capacity magazine from his possession.
Two Teens Arrested for Gun-Related Crimes
On March 7, 2025, around 9:31 p.m., NYSP troopers responded to reports of gunfire on Lockwood Drive in Lockport. Authorities arrested two teenagers on multiple charges, including Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Assault 2nd degree (three counts), Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree.
A 16-year-old allegedly fired a 16-gauge shotgun from a residence, discharging multiple rounds. During the arrest, a 15-year-old resisted, resulting in minor injuries to three troopers.
Two Suspects Apprehended for Larceny
On March 6, 2025, NYSP troopers arrested Kenneth Edmister, 38, of Gasport, and Valerie S. Buscaglia, 44, of Lockport, after an alleged shoplifting incident at Tops on South Transit Road.
Edmister faces charges of Criminal Contempt 1st degree, Petit Larceny, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Mischief. Buscaglia was charged with Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Governmental Administration.
While responding to assist the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office with a shoplifter, troopers discovered another theft in progress. Edmister attempted to flee in a U-Haul truck, reversing across the parking lot before crashing into a fence. After a brief struggle, both suspects were taken into custody.
